Imamate of one who insulted a noble hadith

Question

A man was leaving the mosque, praising the wealth and goods of this world, while another man was inside the mosque. The man in the mosque said to the one leaving that the meaning of a noble hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is: whoever calls the wealth of this world wealth has no wealth ahead of him, and whoever calls the house of this world a house has no house ahead of him. The one leaving turned back and replied (we seek refuge in Allah): “To hell with the hadith!” What is the ruling on one who says this?

Answer

He has said something very grave. Until he feels remorse and makes a sincere, firm repentance, he must not be made imam. In “al-Bahr”, “‘Alamgiri” and other books the ruling on this is stated severely.
