The Imamate of a Sorcerer (Sahir) and a Practitioner of Incantations
Question
What is the ruling if one who performs incantatory practice or has it performed leads the prayer?
Answer
Appointing a sorcerer (sahir) as imam is not proper. The imamate of a practitioner of incantations who uses the Qur’an and Hadith (عامل قرآن وحدیث), however, is valid.
