Separation between the imam and the muqtadis: a road beyond the mosque rooms
Question
There is a congregational (jami') mosque. On its right side, beyond the wall, there is a narrow passage, and after it there are rooms about eight cubits wide, and there is no space in the rooms for people to stand, since in some of the rooms there are belongings and others are rented out. Now, will the following (iqtida') of someone who stands on the street to the right of these rooms be valid or not?
Answer
The prayer of those who stand on the street in this way will not be valid: a distance of five gaz prevents following the imam.
