Leaving a row behind the imam for the angels

Question

Is it necessary to leave one row [empty] behind the imam for the angels? If so, what are the proofs for it?

Answer

There is no need whatsoever to leave a row behind the imam for the angels. Nowhere in the books of hadith and fiqh is it written that a row [should] be left.
