A minbar separating the row near the imam

Question

There is a minbar near the imam; two muqtadis are praying beside the minbar, and on its other side six to ten muqtadis are praying, so that the minbar is, as it were, in the middle. Does this break the row or not?

Answer

If the minbar comes in the middle of the row, so that some of the muqtadis are on one side of the row and some on the other, this causes no defect in the row; the row will be correct. This is how it is mentioned in al-Mabsut of al-Sarakhsi.
