The Imam Inside the Mosque, Some Followers Out in the Courtyard, with Curtains on the Doors
Question
In winter, curtains of cloth or sackcloth are hung over the doors of the mosque. If curtains hang over all the doors and the followers stand outside, beyond the curtains as well, is their prayer valid when the voice of the imam [reciting] the qira’a and [saying] the takbir reaches them? And what is the ruling if the voice does not reach them?
Answer
If the followers correctly know of the imam’s recitation and his transitions [from one posture of the prayer to another], then the prayer is valid.
