A Minor Standing in the First Row

Question

May a minor stand in the first row in the Friday (jumu‘a) prayer and the prayers of the two Eids, or not?

Answer

If there are several minors, the sunna (masnun) way is that a separate row of theirs be formed behind the men; if he is one, he should stand in the adults' row itself: [ar]يصف الرجال ثم الصبيان، ظاهره تعددهم، فلو واحدًا دخل الصف[/ar] “The men line up, then the boys; its apparent sense is that they are several, so if [the boy is] one, he enters the row” (al-Durr al-Mukhtar).
