Forming the Congregation’s Row in the Mosque and an Adjoining Room
Question
On the right side of the mosque there is a room whose door opens into the mosque and also onto the veranda. The veranda of the mosque and [that of] the room look like one. The front row, when straightened, runs as one through the mosque and the room. In this situation, when the congregation is being held, should the front row be a single [row] for both the room and the mosque, or should the row of the mosque be completed and then people stand in a second row within the mosque itself?
Answer
When the row in the mosque is complete, a second row should be formed behind it. People should stand in the room and on the veranda in front of it only when there is no room in the mosque, on its veranda and in the courtyard.
