The sunna sajda

Question

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform sajda — does this mean that he would remain in sajda for a long time?

Answer

When he ﷺ prayed alone he would remain long in sajda; and he made his sajda so open [holding his arms apart] that if a young goat had wanted to pass beneath him, it could have passed.
