Repeating the Word “Nas” While Reciting Surah an-Nas, and Mentioning the Names of Angels Alongside Certain Verses
Question
(1) Is it permissible to recite the verse: [ar]قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ[/ar] “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind” (Surah an-Nas, 114:1), repeating the word “nas” (mankind) three times after each [mention]? (2) Likewise, along with certain verses the names of the angels (mala’ika) are recited — is this correct or not? (3) What is the issue of the Qur’an being created or uncreated? What does it mean to hold it to be created, and what corruption follows from this?
Answer
(1) This method is not correct: because of it, the Qur’anic verse becomes distorted and is rendered meaningless. (2) The existence of angels is true: they remain with man for his protection, and by Allah’s command they render [him] assistance.
