The Difference Between Tafsir and Ta’wil

What is the difference between tafsir and ta’wil?

Answer

If all the aforementioned conditions are observed, it is tafsir; if some of them are lacking, it is ta’wil (see “Tafsir Fath al-‘Aziz”).
