Attending a Friend’s Function Despite Having One’s Own
Question
A man of standing is marrying off his two daughters. Owing to his own disagreement (?) as well as other considerations of foresight in the present age, he wants the food for some five or ten men of the groom’s wedding procession to be cooked by the very daughters who are getting married.
Answer
If the girls’ father and the members of the wedding procession have a relationship of affection and informality with that friend of standing, and he invites the girls’ father and his guests (the members of the procession) with honour and respect, and everyone gladly accepts, then this will not detract from anyone’s honour, nor will any ugly stain attach.
