Nikah into the Family the Late Wife Had Forbidden
Question
My late wife, before she died, kept advising me: “After my death, do not marry into such-and-such a family, and marry wherever you wish.” Now she has passed away, and my match is being settled from that very place. Please write about this: should I accept the proposal or not?
Answer
That woman has not become haram (forbidden) for you because your wife forbade it; if you marry, the nikah will be valid. You have the choice whether to heed the word of your late wife or your own heart.
