The Essence of Nikah in the Shari‘a
Question
The question is extremely long; its gist is evident from the answer. The questioner copied out a page of a printed marriage certificate register and attached it to the question.
Answer
In the Shari‘a, the essence of nikah is no more than this: an offer (ijab) is made by one side and acceptance (qabul) by the other, and this takes place in the presence of two witnesses who are both men, or in the presence of one man and two women. In this way the nikah is concluded according to the Shari‘a. The nikah will also take place in the form described in the question.
