Funeral Prayer over an Apostate and Burial in a Muslim Cemetery

Question: What is the ruling on performing the funeral prayer (janaza) over a deceased apostate and burying him in a Muslim cemetery?

Answer

The funeral prayer over an apostate is not valid. He is not to be washed (ghusl) and shrouded (kafan) like Muslims and buried in a Muslim cemetery.
