How to derive benefit from a grave

Question

What is the method, in the way of the Sufis, of deriving benefit (istifada) from the grave of the people of Allah (ahl Allah)? And if by good fortune one ever happens to go to their shrine, what should one do so that the seeker may benefit from their spiritual effusion?

Answer

First, let him recite something and gift [its reward]; [then,] closing his eyes, let him imagine that his soul has become joined to the soul of that saintly elder and that special states are being transferred from it and are reaching [him].
