Which direction the feet of the deceased should face during washing

Question

Zayd says that when the deceased is being washed, his feet should point towards the qibla, because when the dead are raised they will be facing the qibla.

Answer

There are two ways of placing the deceased on the board when washing him: one is to lay him with his feet towards the qibla, and the other is to turn his face towards the qibla, as he is placed in the grave. Adopt whichever way is easier; both are permissible.
