A midwife (dai) washing the deceased

Question

Is it proper to have a deceased woman washed by a Muslim midwife (dai) or not?

Answer

If the Muslim midwife performs the washing in accordance with the sunna, this is proper. The best thing, however, is that the women of the household perform the washing themselves.
