Insolence towards the Prophets

Question

A Muslim of sound mind and senses is saying that Hadrat Yusuf was not a prophet and that the book “Dastan-i Yusuf” (“The Tale of Yusuf”) is a false book; and about the Prophet ﵇ he says (na‘udhu billah) that he was a “womaniser”, lustful, that he had eleven wives. Will this person be called a Muslim or a kafir? Has divorce fallen on his wife or not? If this person dies, will the funeral prayer be performed over him or not?

Answer

One in whose heart there is iman cannot say such a thing, for by it iman departs, the marriage ends, his washing and shrouding are not done in the Islamic manner, and the funeral prayer is not performed over him.
