A Spiritual Guide Who Calls Himself “Allah”, and Other Absurdities
Question
There is a man who is outwardly a Muslim but has himself called “Allah”; he says that pork is halal, because the Prophet ﷺ supposedly consumed it; and he says that wine too is permissible. What is the ruling on becoming such a person’s disciple and sitting in his company? Can the funeral prayer, washing and shrouding of such a man be carried out according to the Sacred Law or not?
Answer
If the matter is as stated, the man in question is a kafir. Becoming his disciple is by no means permissible; going to him and sitting in his gatherings is likewise absolutely impermissible. It is entirely proper for every Muslim to boycott him. His washing and shrouding and the funeral prayer over him are in no way permissible for Muslims.
