Calling “Da‘wat al-Haqq” a “Da‘wat of Kufr”

Question

The Majlis “Da‘wat al-Haqq” is attributed to Mawlana Hakim al-Ummah ﵀; at present in Hardoi Mawlana Shah Abrar al-Haqq, may his glory increase, is carrying on the work of Da‘wat al-Haqq, accomplishing its aims — the spread of education and so on. The people of knowledge are not unaware of the said Mawlana’s work, and they know of the Majlis Da‘wat al-Haqq. Now it needs to be ascertained: a certain scholar regards Da‘wat al-Haqq as not a “call to the truth” but a “call to kufr” and a “dar al-kufr”.

Answer

That scholar should be asked for the Sacred basis of his statement: this is no trivial matter of the order of a subsidiary question, but a fundamental one. Until he sets it out with evidence, his statement is not to be followed; yet neither should one hasten to pass a ruling of kufr upon him himself. However, sermons of that kind from him should not be listened to.
