Is al-Suyuti’s “Tarikh al-Khulafa” Reliable?

“Tarikh al-Khulafa”, a work of Allama al-Suyuti — is this book reliable or not?

Answer

“Tarikh al-Khulafa” is not authoritative [as a source of hadith]; rather, it is a history book in which all sorts of material are mixed together, both unverified and sound. The hadith narrations quoted in it here and there are likewise of every kind, both strong and weak.
