Reliable Books on the Martyrdom of Husayn

Question

Question: Which is the correct book on the account of the martyrdom? Since many books have been published on this subject, but they all record differing accounts, which book should be consulted in order to see the correct account?

Answer

What is meant by ‘the account of the martyrdom’? If it is [a question of] learning the circumstances of the martyrdom of Hazrat Sayyiduna Husayn ﵁, then for this subject the treatise of Shah ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Dehlawi, “Sirr al-Shahadatayn”, is better. This account is also related in detail in “Rawdat al-Safa”, “Tarikh al-Khulafa’” and other [books].
