May an Unlearned Person Deliver a Sermon

Question

Is it permissible for an unlearned person (one without religious education) to deliver a sermon, or not?

Answer

It is better for an unlearned person to read aloud from a book rather than deliver an independent sermon of his own, since as a rule he is unable to observe the proper limits. But if he does observe the limits and says only what rests on a reliable source, then it is permitted for him.
