Acting Out the Nikah Ceremony to Teach It
Question
A boy asked a question: “Please explain nikah (marriage) to us.” The teacher then explained it to him. The boy said: “We did not understand — please explain it to us in the way a person actually performs nikah.” Then the teacher, by way of example, made one boy the groom and another the bride, made one boy the wakil (proxy) and two others the witnesses, and, exactly as a person conducts a marriage, was explaining it to the boys in this manner.
Answer
The teacher had no need to explain this by acting it out; rather, in reply he should simply have said: “When you grow up and the time for nikah comes, you will understand all of this.” Reviling [another] is forbidden.
