Wages for making and repairing radios
Question
Question: Nowadays young men, among whom there is a considerable number of Muslim youths as well, commonly learn the craft of making radios, and after that they either open their own shop for making and repairing radios or take up employment at someone else’s shop. Kindly write regarding its permissibility or impermissibility, and whether the income earned from it is halal or haram.
Answer
The radio is neither impure (najas) nor haram, nor was it made primarily (asalatan) for a haram purpose. Those who use it for an impermissible purpose are themselves responsible for their act. Therefore making it and earning income by making it is not haram, nor is such income haram.
