A Wage for Reciting the Qur’an in Tarawih

Question

Hafizes of the Noble Qur’an travel long distances in blessed Ramadan in order to recite it to listeners, with the intention that they will get some money. Is such reciting permissible?

Answer

This intention is corrupt (fasid). Reciting with this intention and taking money, and the followers (muqtadis) listening and giving money, is a sin.
