Giving goats on a half-share basis

Question

Question: Goats are given out on a half-share basis, i.e. a goat is handed over, and when kids are born, if there are two, one is taken, and if there is one, half of it is taken. Is this method permissible or not? If it is impermissible, please state a permissible way of giving on a half-share basis.

Answer

This method is not right. However, if half of the goat is sold and the price forgiven, he becomes a partner in half: half the goat will be his, and the milk, the goat and the kids will all be half and half.
