Preferring some children over others in gifts

Question

Question: From my late wife I have three children: two sons, Muhammad Faruq and Muhammad Harun, and one daughter. When all three reached adulthood I had them married. After their marriage both sons separated from me: the elder son, Muhammad Faruq, went to Pakistan and nothing is known of him; the second son, Muhammad Harun, lives elsewhere in the same city.

Answer

During your lifetime you are the full owner; you have the right to give your property and the like, wholly or partly, in whatever way you wish, to any son, daughter or even an outsider. But bear in mind that there should be no intention of harming any prospective heir: that is injustice and a sin.
