Looking down on one who acts on a ruling of the Shariʿa
Question
If a person acts on a ruling (masʾala) of the Shariʿa and people regard him as lowly and contemptible, is it right to act on that ruling or not?
Answer
Those of little knowledge and little religion who look down on someone for acting on a ruling of the Shariʿa only harm themselves. With Allah and His Messenger ﷺ he will be honoured. The injunctions of the Shariʿa must by no means be abandoned in order to gain honour in the eyes of the people of this world.
