A false claim
Question
Adjacent to a man named Irshad Husain is the Qal‘a Fatehpur mosque, and the land adjoining the house is the property of the mosque. A shop was being built above the room of the mosque, but Irshad has made a false claim of his ownership of this land and has also had the construction stopped. What is the Shari‘a ruling regarding such a person?
Answer
A false claim is false in any case. If someone, by lying wrongfully, obtains a judgment in his favour, it will be a piece of the fire of Hell; it may flare up even in this world, and in the Hereafter its flaring up is certain.
