An image of an animate being included incidentally with the inanimate
Question
Question: I work as a diver at the university (jamiʿa) in Jeddah: I have to dive into the sea and obtain shells. Nowadays I have been asked to photograph the creatures under the water of the sea, such as fish, bushes and stones. So please tell me: is this work permissible?
Answer
You may photograph the underwater creatures — bushes, stones and the like; if an image of some animate being also comes into it, there is no harm.
