Carrom
Question
Carrom (a board game in which pieces are flicked into the corner pockets) is a game. Is there any form in which it is permissible? For your information, the game is played without conditions and without winning and losing. If it is permissible, then in what case, and if it is impermissible, then in what case? Kindly inform us and oblige us.
Answer
If there is no winning and losing and the rulings of the Shariʿa are not disrupted because of it, then occasionally, to dispel gloom and amuse the heart, there is latitude for this game (carrom). However, one should not make a habit of it, and should try to give it up.
