Seeing oneself dead in a dream

Question

Question: One day I saw a strange dream: that I had already departed from this transient abode, they had already put the shroud and so on on me, the bier (janaza) was fully ready, and my face was completely uncovered. And I myself was saying to the people present around me, “Cover my face and take me along.” The people said, “If we cover your face, you will be able neither to hear nor to say anything, and as soon as you arrive the punishment will begin.

Answer

In the dream there is a warning that preparation should be made for death, and that one should abstain from the matters on account of which the punishment of the grave occurs.
