Untying a camel and leading it away in a dream

Question

Question: At night before sleeping I was saying these words with my tongue: “O Allah, now gather up my dust.” Then, when it was about half past one (1½) at night, I fell asleep and I see in a dream that I submitted an application to some official concerning land and the like. My aim was that this official should put his mark on the application, but he refused several times; when I did not let go, he put the mark, and I set off from there.

Answer

The interpretation of the dream is that death is not in one’s own control, nor will one be informed of when it will come; hastening it is pointless. A camel walks at its own pace: even by untying it and leading it along, its pace will not change.
