“ʿAlayhi al-salam” for Husayn ﵁, cursing Muʿawiya ﵁, and the question of Yazid

Question

Most revered and honoured Hazrat Mufti, may your eminence endure! Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Question: as instructed, the findings of the inquiry and the fatwa of Hazrat Wala are being sent. Concerning the other party, the following is submitted. 1. They consider it permissible to curse and revile Hazrat Amir Muʿawiya ﵁ and other Companions, and they insist on saying “ʿalayhi al-salam” for Sayyiduna Husayn ﵁. In Benares they have stirred up a real strife (fitna)

Answer

Respected sir, may your honour increase! Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. As instructed, the answer is sent after a second and third review. 1. Whoever curses Hazrat Amir Muʿawiya ﵁, that curse returns upon him, and such a person ruins his final outcome in the Hereafter.
