Shaking hands with two hands

Question

Is shaking hands with one hand permissible or haram? Is the manner of shaking hands with one hand rejected (mardud), or is the one who shakes hands with one hand rejected? What about someone who considers this manner, or the one who adopts it, rejected? What is the correct manner of shaking hands?

Answer

Shaking hands with both hands is sunna. To say that it is not established with two hands and that it should be done with only one hand is wrong. At times it is also transmitted with one hand. To call either of these two manners haram is not correct. However, if shaking hands with one hand is abandoned in order to avoid imitation (tashabbuh)
