Sitting partly in the sun and partly in the shade

Question

Question: Regarding the prohibition of sitting partly in the sun and partly in the shade: this prohibition is due to fear of harm, and if there is no harm, there is no prohibition. Further to this I would ask: what kind of harm is meant, so that by knowing its nature one may benefit from the answer? Outwardly no perceptible harm is apparent.

Answer

This is a medical harm; this is what the commentators of hadith have written. If details are wanted, consult physicians.
