Answering the call of a non-mahram
Question
Question: (1) If Zayd’s wife, when some non-mahram called out and there was no child or adult in the house to answer him, answered him herself — then if Zayd ever leads the prayer, will the prayer behind him be valid, merely because his wife answered? Zayd is not the permanent imam. (2) When no other person is present, may one answer a non-mahram or not?
Answer
(1) Because of this much, no defect will arise in Zayd’s leading the prayer (imama). (2) To the extent of need, if such an answer is given from which there is no fear of falling into temptation (fitna), it is permitted.
