At what age hijab applies

Question: Up to what age should a woman observe hijab?

Answer

When a girl becomes grown-up — such that a quality arises in her by which she herself begins to feel desire for a man, or a man begins to feel desire for her — then she becomes subject to hijab, and thereafter she will observe hijab all her life: at no time is she free to go about among men without hijab.
