The permissibility of both kinds of hare

Question

Question: What is the ruling on eating the hare? People say that it is not permissible to eat a hare with feet like a cat’s — does this have any basis or not? Is it permitted to eat both kinds of hare or not?

Answer

Both kinds of hare are halal. Even if the feet are of two kinds, the food of all of them is one and the same — and it is on this that the ruling rests.
