Qaṣd as-Sabīl, an Ijāza Without Bayʿa, and the Mysterious “Mullā Dawāzdah”
Answer
A mosquito and a sleeping guest. A mosquito came humming close to Ḥaḍrat, while one of the guests lay asleep. On this occasion Ḥaḍrat recited the verse: [ar]اے عندلیبِ نالاں شورے مکن دریں جا ٭ نازک مزاجِ شاہاں تابِ سخن ندارد[/ar] "O lamenting nightingale, make no clamour here: kings are of delicate temper and cannot bear speech." Qaṣd as-Sabīl.
