Selling plastic dolls and pictures

Question

Question: Zayd is regular in prayer and zakat. While Zayd was on Hajj to the House of Allah, some of those responsible for his business ordered for the shop some pictures, water squirters for Holi (the Hindu spring festival of colours), birds, dolls of plastic and the like — ordered them along with other goods — and began selling them.

Answer

This thought of Zayd’s is very blessed; he should certainly remain in his former way and refrain from trading in unsuitable things, whether they are at the level of makruh or haram. If there is a picture of something on sealed goods, then buying and selling that picture is not what is intended — it is merely a mark (trademark)
