What punishments of the Sacred Law and what threats of punishment in the Hereafter have come concerning one who does not perform them?
Answer
These things are not established by the proofs of the Sacred Law; rather, the jurists have stated explicitly that they are a forbidden bid‘a (innovation in religion), as is mentioned in “Fatawa Bazzaziyya”, “Radd al-Muhtar” and other [books]. Therefore these things should be abandoned. Isal al-thawab (conveying reward to the deceased)
