Salat-o-Salam Recited Aloud
Question
Nowadays in most mosques people recite salam calling out loudly the names of the prophets ﵈; some call out the salam by the name of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. What is the status of this practice?
Answer
Reciting salat-o-salam in this manner is not established [by the Sunna]. From afar it should be recited in the way salawat is recited in the prayer; and when present before the Blessed Rawda ﷺ it should be recited in a soft, moderate voice, with the utmost respect and love, in the form of direct address to him ﷺ; even there it should not be recited by shouting in a loud voice.
