Some Baseless Bad Omens

Question

Many Muslims say: “In our family no door is fitted in the house; fitting a door brings danger to life and property.” Some say: “A low wooden platform is not made [in our family].” Someone says: “Pickles are not kept [in our family]; if they are kept, we suffer loss.” Besides this, people also keep the custom of not giving lime to anyone after Maghrib, even when asked for it. What is the ruling of the Sacred Law on this?

Answer

All these matters are baseless and absurd according to the Sacred Law; such a belief is not correct, and it is obligatory to give it up.
