Seeking Help from the Awliya of Allah
Question
Is seeking help from the awliya of Allah permissible or impermissible? And who is called a Wahhabi?
Answer
It is correct to supplicate to Allah the Exalted making the venerable awliya of Allah a wasila (means) before Allah the Pure — for instance: “O Allah, for the sake of Your awliya” or “for the sake of such-and-such a righteous elder, grant me a righteous son.” This should not be asked directly from the awliya of Allah themselves: “O such-and-such elder, give me a son.
