Description

Stigmasterol-rich plant sterols (E499) are a mixture of plant sterols (≥ 95 %) with stigmasterol ≥ 85 %; under EU law derived only from soybeans. Raw material: soybean oil deodorizer distillate (c1, c2): esterification and trans-esterification with methanol (c3), recrystallisation with ethanol (c4), purification with undisclosed agents (c7). Hexane — oil extraction and sterol purification (c5)
