The Holy Quran 8:60 — Surah Al-Anfal

Arabic text

وَأَعِدُّوا۟ لَهُم مَّا ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ ٱلْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِۦ عَدُوَّ ٱللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَءَاخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُونَ

Translation

Prepare (to use in battle) against them (the Kuffaar) whatever forces of strength (weapons) you can muster (collect), as well as trained horses (and modern military equipment) with which you may strike fear into Allaah's enemies, your enemies and others besides them (such as the Munaafiqeen). You do not know them (your other enemies who hide their enmity for you) but Allaah knows them. Whatever you may spend in Allaah's way (the reward for it) will be given to you in full and you will not be oppressed (you will not be given less than you deserve. In fact, the reward for Jihaad is greatly multiplied).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأعدُّوا - يا معشر المسلمين - لمواجهة أعدائكم كل ما تقدرون عليه مِن عدد وعدة، لتُدْخلوا بذلك الرهبة في قلوب أعداء الله وأعدائكم المتربصين بكم، وتخيفوا آخرين لا تظهر لكم عداوتهم الآن، لكن الله يعلمهم ويعلم ما يضمرونه.
