The Holy Quran 8:61 — Surah Al-Anfal

Arabic text

۞ وَإِن جَنَحُوا۟ لِلسَّلْمِ فَٱجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Translation

If they (your enemy) are inclined towards making peace, then you should also incline yourselves to it (by concluding a peace treaty with them) and trust in Allaah. Without doubt, He is All Hearing (listening to the clauses of your treaties), All Knowing (knows exactly what is in the hearts of the parties drawing up the treaty).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإن مالوا إلى ترك الحرب ورغبوا في مسالمتكم فمِلْ إلى ذلك -أيها النبي- وفَوِّضْ أمرك إلى الله، وثق به. إنه هو السميع لأقوالهم، العليم بنيَّاتهم.
